The Chinese have the expression Fen Shui to describe an enviroment that "feels right to your soul". Much of what I see now driving up to Volcan has a visual Fen Shui. Clouds in the mountains, large tall trees and many shades of green. As we climb higher the air starts to cool. Lots of farms with crops growing on very steep slopes. Looks more like Switzerland with a Central American twist. There are even A-frame homes.
We roll on past Volcan on a surprisingly good road. Not crowded with under-powered cars or motorcycles. Veggie stands dot the road. Big bags containing carrots, onions, potatoes and some other ones that I cant make out. Lots of exotic flowers dot the road as well.
We stop at a large one story building saying Artisans. Inside are numerous tiny stalls for clothes repair, saddle making, crafts, fruits and veggies, and no less than 4 barberos!
Continue on into Cerro Punto.Air feels great! Got a kobob with beef, pork, sausage, onion, green pepper, and potato on it cooked out in the open by a little street vendor. Also saw a pick-ur-own strawberry place in a sloping hill and got frozen strawberry puree and cream.
Continued down the mountain back into humid David.
Followed the road down past the small aeropuerto to the marina. Sat in the marina bar and had cerveza by the water. Nice cool breeze, but no way t get to the ocean from there except by boat.
